Dear all, now it must be time to give an update on our life in Boulder.

We have now been here for one and a half month. Our daily life is up and running and Mikael has started working at NIST a few hours each day. Ingrid and Peter are well integrated in school and pre-school and have started to say a bit in English. Especially Ingrid seems happy with school while Peter is a bit more reserved. In the beginning it was the other way around!

The weather is still great; meaning shorts and short sleaves. Most days the kids are picked up by Mikael and they play at (in) the creek on their way home.

The kids are pretty tired when they get home in the afternoon. Then it's good to relax a bit with some computer. Peter likes to surf on bobthebuilder.org and trafiksjov.dk. We also use our PC's to watch DVD movies on. We love Chaplin movies and "The Little House on the Prarie". The TV has been exiled to the garage.

We have just finished reading (at bedtime) a story called "Jim Knap", which is really good.

Peter and Ingrid play alot with our neighbors kids Karen (7 yr) and Sarah (9 yr). It is pretty fun, because when we are alone with our kids we can't get them to say much in English. However, when they are with Karen and Sarah they actually communicate pretty well in English.

During the weekends we often go on various trips: Rock climbing at the Redrock cliffs at the west end of the downtown 'Pearl Street Mall'.

The boss of Mikael's boss invited us for dinner and the next day we went with them to visit a place called Walker Ranch. This place is very much like the Ingalls' house and two times a year volunteers team up and populate the place in old fashioned costumes.

We also visited a gold mine, about an hours drive up in the mountains. The whole thing was very authentic; especially our guide was impressive: big, rough, laughing and with all ten fingers chopped off to the innermost joint! After the mine tour we tried gold panning in the nearby creek.

Yesterday, there was a Fall Festival at Ingrids school. Ingrid and her friends were dancing Cotton-eye Joe, squaredance, etc. and Mikael won the first prize for the best non-traditional chilli! (Turkey in chocolate chilli sauce) He was very proud and is now famous among all the mothers at the school.
