Dear everybody,
We miss you!
From all of us to all of you:
We had a wonderful christmas vacation in California together with Christina and John and Mikael's dad and Vera. Christina is really something special. She had stood on her head to make a great christmas for the kids, with a brimming full fridge (very american), big tree, lots of presents and Disney videos. She is really good at playing and talking with the kids (who behaved very well - probably Christina's fault). The grownups spent many evenings just sitting and talking. Really nice and mellow.
We had originally intended to go on a trip for some days, to see the land. However, we never got around to it, it was so 'hyggeligt' just to hang out in Palo Alto. We had some very nice one-day trips to the coast and to SF. Mikael and I also went to SF without kids (they were more than happy to be with John and Christina). We stayed in the city for the evening and went to our favorite restaurant. We were also on a trip to Petaluma, to visit John's parents on their ranch.
New years eve was spent with Joe from Signe's job in Denmark, he and his family are living in Palo Alto for nine months. A great succes. They served home-made 'citronsorbet' (don't know how to say that in english) for dessert. The citrus were grown in their own back yard, very exotic when you come from Denmark (or Colorado). Peter and Ingrid had a great time with Joe's kids, talking Danish although they started out in English.
Here are some pictures:
Peter with a gargantuan telescope his Dad rented for a night in NM.
On our way home we stopped in on a cemetary. Cosy.
In downtown Boulder you can go ice-skating.
Of course we also have a nice Santa!
John with his mom.
Christina with Johns dad.
The parents house in Petaluma.
Peter visiting our neighbor, Irene. That day they had a small boa over for tea.
'Hyggeligt!'
The family on a trip.
Peter and Mikael cooked lunch for the whole pre-school. A nice tradition from Denmark.
In Petaluma people are serious about x-mas decoration!
On a survival trip in the front yard.
Peter found some serious equipment on the ranch in Petaluma.
The Pacific. Great to see some water, we don't have much of that around here in CO.
Happy new year!
Love - Signe, Mikael, Ingrid and Peter
