Conditions: aquired July 11, 2005 in Barraba, a small town in New South Wales, Australia; no moon, passing haze and clouds
Setup: Borg 100ED F6.4, DF-2 focusser, CFW-8 filter wheel, L-R-G-B filters, ST10XE camera, Takahashi EM-10 mount (here's a picture of this setup)
Exposure time: 1x2 mosaic consisting of L: 5x200 sec (1x1 binning); R,G,B: 5x60 sec (2x2 binning)
Processing (Mira, Registar, CCDsharp, MaxIm, Photoshop): dark subtracted, flat fielded, de-bloomed, registered, median/avr combined, color balanced, Lucy Richardson deconvolution (2 iterations), DDP, combined as LLRGB, cropped and reduced 50% for web format
This image was acquired during my astroimaging trip to Australia. During a full week there I only got two useable
nights due to poor weather. This image was shot through holes in passing patches of clouds and haze. The brightness
of objects in this region is quite high and thus forgiving of the rather short exposure times I chose to apply.
